295 : halloween

I can't remember the last time I actually dressed up, but I do however, love to dress up the Monster. This year, I used a recycled costume from a few years ago, and remembered how super cute he looks as a bee (even in a crappy cell phone camera photo). Oh, how I heart him.

240 : holiday weekends

I can't really remember a time post college I felt like I had a holiday weekend. I usually work...and work...and work. It doesn't matter what day or holiday it is. So this weekend it was nice to step back and take a break from work and just relax. Some Scrabble, a Dodger game (and win!), a movie, some mudslides and a bbq made for one nice 3-day weekend. Even better...it'll really only be 3 full days this week since Friday will be spent looking for a new car (yay!).

227 : strange music day

I almost always have music playing in the office. Be it itunes, or pandora.com, I usually have something going on. Last year, a client gave Monique and I a stack of mixed cd's. We popped them into the office, excited to have some new tunes on the rotation. Many of the songs we liked, many we didn't, and some just plain made us laugh.

When we were still a duo, we played this song every day for awhile since it is so absolutely ridiculous, it's funny.

The video is crazy disturbing, which in some ways is fitting for such an "interesting" song. So on national "strange music day", I leave you with Bloodhound Gang...

211 : sneak zucchini on your neighbors porch day

Today has to be one of the weirdest named days ever...It's not a national holiday or anything, but someone did decide that today was officially (made official by who, I'm not sure) "Sneak Zucchini on Your Neighbors Porch" day. Told you it was strange. Although after the wrinkled brow and look of confusion, I did smile.

I think the neighbor who brought me a cucumber may be getting a zucchini or two today :)

176 : fireworks

This year the bf and I watched the fireworks in the field of a school with the monster. Although the people behind us talked the whole time, and the finale was a joke, it was a perfect way to end the 4th.

162 : my dad

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. I'm very fortunate to have an amazing one.

120 : moms

It's already the second Sunday in May... Mother's Day. It's no doubt that our moms make us happy. After all, where would we be without them? Words pale in comparison to what they mean to us. Cheers to all the mothers out there, this is your day.

A Wikipedia tidbit..."The proverbial "first word" of an infant often sounds like "ma" or "mama". This strong association of that sound with "mother" has persisted in nearly every language on earth, countering the natural localization of language."

103 : earth day

Let's face it, everyone is on the "green" bandwagon. And why not? Everyone should do what they can to protect our planet. We try and do little things everyday to reduce, reuse and recycle. From bringing home our recyclable items (since there is no bin at the office), to using reusable bags at the grocery store, or no bags at all when necessary. There are so many things you can do every day to help out.

Good Housekeeping Magazine gives you 25 easy ways to go green. Check it out. And if you're really hardcore about saving the planet, check out Diane Gow McDilda's book, 365 Ways to Live Green.

73 : puppies

Puppies make us happy. How many people don't smile when they see a puppy? Seriously.

Today being National Puppy Day, we thought we'd once again share a photo of the monster... A little over 3 years ago I saw this face on Recycler.com and fell in love.

Cutest. Thing. Ever.

72 : national goof off day

National Goof Off Day + Margarita Monday + Photo Booth =

Enough. Said.

62 : girl scout cookies

Yup, folks, it's that time again. When you see those cute little girl scouts standing outside the supermarket pushing their brightly colored boxes of crack...oh, we mean cookies. You know you wait for your box of Thin Mints or Samoas all year long. It's ok, we do too.

So today, in honor of National Girl Scout Day (who makes this stuff up anyway?) we salute you Girl Scouts, for bringing Thin Mint happiness to so many.

53 : your happiness

Today is national "I want you to be happy" day. And nothing makes us happier, than when the people we love are happy.

So to help with your happiness, we give you this very important flow chart (which also makes us happy).
